What's Underneath Matters: Real Women Wear Real Bras Part II

Measuring Yourself For a Bra
Before you begin, be sure to have the proper tape measure and find your best fitting bra. For a more accurate measurement, this bra should be un-padded and have no under-wire. Once you have it on and if your breast sag, adjust your straps. The crest of your breast are halfway between shoulder and elbow.

Measuring your Band Size (BS)
Wrap the tape measure around where your bra band would go,
 (be sure that the tape measure is parallel to the ground).
Take the tape measure and put it around underneath your breast
or the under bust. Be sure the tape measure is parallel to the ground.
 Measure in inches.***
*** If there is a fraction in your measurement, round up to the nearest inch.
Example: You measured 27 ¾ inches round up to 28 inches
You measured 34 ½ inches round up to 35 inches

Now that you have your measurement, to determine your band size do the following:
If your measurement number is even, add 4 inches
If your measurement number is odd, add 5 inches
Example
Your under bust measured 28 inches. Add 4, and you band size (BS) is 32
Your under bust measured 35 inches. Add 5, and your band size is 40.

Cup Measuring
Measure yourself around the fullest part of your bust (boobs).
 Once you get your cup measurement, subtract you band Band Size (BS) from you cup measurement (CM)
For example, your cup measure is 41 inches
To calculate Cup size (CS) :
Cup Measurement (CM)- Band Size (BS)= (CS)
41(CM)- 40(BS)= 1 “1” is your cup size.
The size bra from this example is 40B.

Determining your cup size
 Cup Measurement minus Band Size equals your Cup Size
CM- BS= CS
-1 =AA
3=D
0=A
4=E
1=B
5=F
2=C
6=G

Now that you have your measurement, its time to buy a new bra. What type of bra, you ask? Read my article, What We Wear Underneath Matters: Real Women Wear Real Bras- Deciding on a Bra, for some insight.

I hope this information is simple and helpful. Please pass this information along to family and friends. Remember, J. Simone’s care and for the latest deals on bra please visit www.jsimonesonline.com

What's Underneath Matter Series- Real Women Wear Real Bras- Part I

Deciding on a Bra
Should what we wear underneath matter? Let’s talk brassieres or bras.
Of course, what we wear underneath should matter especially when is comes down to bras. The purpose of a bra is not only to support a woman’s breast but it also help with back support and posture. Bras alters appearance and sometimes allows for your blouses to fit better.

Real women wear real bras! When we think of bras, we should think about comfort, style, durability, and brand. We just need to make sure that the bras we wear FIT. If you are wearing a bra and it is cutting into your skin, get a new bra. By cutting into the skin we mean that if you put on a bra and you cannot see your bra band on your back because it’s in your back means one of two things: either the bra is too small or the bra is too small. That bra is not good for you, your boobs, or your back. This could cause skin problems or even poor circulation.

If you are spilling out of your bra cups then you should get a bigger cup size. You do not want to spend most of your day constantly adjusting you boobs and stuffing them back into their cups. Also, when your boobs are spilling out of your bra, it is seen through your shirt. That could be unsightly! Another sign that your bra is too small is that if you poke the cup of your bra with your finger (with your boobs in it) and the cup dimples, your cup is too big. You should go down a cup size.

Get measured!
Did you know that 75-85% of women are wearing the wrong bra size? I was apart of the 85%. That's funny because after wearing a bra for all these years, I only recently found out how to properly measure myself for a bra. Now, if you don't know how to measure yourself properly for a bra please check out the "What's Underneath Matters Series: Women Wear Real Bras II- Measure Yourself for a Bra," article on my blog. You can always go to your local retail store and let them measure you but J. Simone's discourages that for our own selfishness purposes *wink. J. Simone's want you to learn to measure yourself so that you would feel more comfortable about purchasing bras online...most importantly, from us. If you are not measuring yourself properly, you are putting yourself at risk of purchasing a bad-fitting bra. Some stores may not allow you to return underwear and that will be a waste of money on your part.

So a question J. Simone’s has been asked is, “What kind of bra can I wear to keep my boobs from sagging?” Easy answer, none. One interesting fact that J. Simone’s discovered while preparing this article was that bras do not prevent saggy boobs. You didn't hear me? I said, BRAS DO NOT PREVENT SAGGY BOOBS! It’s true. So you either have naturally saggy boobs that droop a little to a lot, or you have perky boobs (who has those over the age of 20 and are they real?) Doctors do have mixed reviews on this issue it seems.  Some doctors say that “saggy boobs” or Ptosis of the breast is genetic and is based on skin elasticity and body mass. Other doctors say it’s based on smoking, poor bra support, weight loss, or breastfeeding. J. Simone’s do believe that proper bra support will keep them from sagging below the gut. For more info on sagging boobs, Google it, there is a lot of valuable information out there.

So what are you saying, J. Simone’s? Well, I'm not saying you should go out and get the latest from our website, OK...yes I am but I'm also saying that we should also take pride in ourselves and our bodies.  We should buy things that are good for ourselves, even if it means spending a few extra dollars on a real bra. It is worth the investment!

How do you know which bra is right for you? What are the different types of bras? There are over 30 types of bras and J. Simone's is going to educate you on a few basic bras in this article to help with your decisions the next time you go bra shopping.

Should I buy an Under-wire or Soft Cup bra?
  Under-wire bras are good because they give more lift and shape to the breast. Soft cups do not have under-wire but they do offer support and shaping.The purchase of these type bras are usually based on user preference. Some women do not like the feel of the under-wire bra but if you get the proper size under-wire bra, the breast should fit comfortably and you should not have any problems
 ***If you are a frequent traveler, to avoid  delays at
 security check points in the airports, invest in a soft cup bra.
Your under-wire may contain metal and this may cause
for TSA to get all up in your business, I'm just saying!

 Do I need a padded bra?
That depends on if you want the bigger boob look or not. Padded bras enhance the cleavage. There is usually some sort of foam inside the entire cup. Some bras also contain air, water, or gel pads that enhances the boobs as well. Padded bras support the breast but they do not push the breast up like a push-up bra. If you have a lot of boobs, a padded bra may not be the way to go.

Strapless Convertible Bras.
Bali Concealers Convertible Bra

Wear the proper bra for your shirt or dress.  If you are wearing a halter top or strapless top, wear the appropriate bra. Fashion has evolved and so has the bra. Strapless convertible bras were invented for this purpose. These bras have detachable straps and can be worn with virtually any outfit. J. Simone’s offers strapless bras by Bali, Hanes, and Wonderbra
Balconette vs. Shelf Bra
The balconette and shelf bras both lifts the breasts. The appearances of the breast are enhanced by lifting and shaping the cleavage. Both bras offers minimal coverage but the more erotic shelf bras are usually included with lingerie sets and are cup-less or open-cup. Although sexy in design but conservative, the balconette bra should be worn with low cut or v-neck clothing.
Bali Power-shape Smoothing Mininmizer
What about my big breast? What is a minimizer bra?
Just as its name states, the minimizer bras de-enhances the breast. If you have large boobs, this bra may be for you. This bra compresses and reshapes the breast, while offering support.

Sports Bra.
If you are into athletics and aerobics, this bra is good for just those purposes. The bra is usually made stretchy, breathable materials, and is good for holding the breast together while you are jogging, jumping, stretching, whatever. This bra also minimizes skin irritations while you work-out. How can you work-out comfortably when you are adjusting your boobs all the time?

Full Cup/Full Support.
These bras are good for women with larger bust.

Bandeau?
If you have small breast, the bandeau style bra is a good choice for you. Usually made of a band of stretchy material, this type bra have built in cups that offer little support and shaping. This bra is popular among swimsuits, camisoles, and sporting type clothing.

In this article, we've talked about some style of bras and we still have about 20 more styles to go. So, was that enough insight for you? I hope this information was helpful and stay tuned for future articles about bras.

Simple Tips that Will Keep Our Eyes Happy When We Wear False Eyelashes or "Falsies"

Simple Tips that Will Keep Our Eyes Happy When We Wear False Eyelashes or “Falsies”

Eyelashes or simply lashes grow on the eyelids. We know this right? We also know that lashes are important because they protect the eyes. They protect the eyes by blocking “gunk” and “junk” that fall, get blown into, or fly into eyes. For example dirt, debris, or small bugs… gnats. So you must ask yourself, "if eyelashes are so important, then why damage them by not taking care of them when we wear our “falsies?"”
Some of us love our “falsies”. They can add a little or they can add a lot extra to the eyes. We may wear them when we are going out for the evenings to have a good time. We wear them to look glamorous. We may wear them to look sexy. We may want seductive eyes. We may wear them to costume parties or concerts. Some of us may wear “falsies” for daily wear. (J. Simone’s loves the lashes but we do not recommend “falsies” for daily wear.)
If you do wear “falsies” regardless, it is important to take care of you natural lashes.

For removing make-up and “falsies” use a mild makeup remover. J. Simone’s recommends e.l.f. Studio Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths This make-up remover is under 4 bucks and it does the job!  This product is good for the skin and safe for the eyes. It contains Aloe Vera Extract for that extra moisture and soothing feeling. You could also use baby oil, coconut oil, or olive oil to remove “falsies.”
  Another important rule to remember when taking care of our natural lashes while wearing “falsies,” is that we must replace our make-up. According to a question asked on ABCnews.com about eye make-up and answered by Dr. Tyreese Gaines Reeves, Resident Physician at for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Yale University, we must replace our eye make-up such as mascara and eye liner every four to six months (ABCnews, 2009.) This cuts down on the risk of getting infections in the eye, such as pink eye. We have to think, eyelashes are hair and like the hair on our heads, eyelashes carry germs and bacteria. When we apply make-up to our eyes we are contaminating our brushes, pens, and pencils. In the case of brushes, over time the brush contaminates get into the bottles and you may get an eye infection. Listen, replace your make-up! Keep up with when you purchase your products and if you can’t remember when you purchased something, then it may be time to replace it.
Let your eyes breath sometimes!  Eyelashes are a temporary accessory. You shouldn't wear "falsies" every single day. So your eyelashes won’t grow? That is a common complaint. What to do? False eyelashes are a temporary fix, but nurturing and caring for your natural lashes is beneficial.  There are remedies you can try to get your eyelashes to grow a bit and Free Shipping on Orders over $25!some mascaras give you a fuller look.
So, hair bonding glue (you know, glue for hair weave and tracks) is not good for your lashes. If this glue gets in your natural lash, it could be hard to get out. You may even have an allergy to the bonding glue. Yes, we know some women who may say that with this hair bonding glue, the “falsies” would last longer, maybe two weeks.  J. Simone’s has heard this several times from consumers who wear the individual lashes. But why would you want to wear "falsies" for two weeks in a row? That is not good for your eyes and you may not be cleaning your eyes properly trying to save the “falsies.” Both e.l.f. brand and Baci brand false eyelashes come with their own adhesive glue. Other good lash glues are Duo-lash and Lash-Grip.
If you notice any puffiness, redness, or soreness around the eyelids then do not put on eye make-up or “falsies.” These are tell-tell signs that something is wrong. Pay attention!.
Ever go to bed with make-up on? Well, you shouldn't.  Do not leave make-up on overnight. Smudging your pillow may not be the only inconvenience. Waking up with cruddy make-up in your eyes is disgusting! Some of us sleepyheads wake up, and the first thing we do is rub our eyes. Rubbing your eyes with make-up on burns...burns...burns!
Share this information with you friends, family, or whomever you know wears the “falsies.”
Remember, J. Simone's care about you! Our eyes are our windows; we want to keep them clean and healthy.
