Simple Tips that Will Keep Our Eyes Happy When We Wear False Eyelashes or "Falsies"

Simple Tips that Will Keep Our Eyes Happy When We Wear False Eyelashes or “Falsies”

Eyelashes or simply lashes grow on the eyelids. We know this right? We also know that lashes are important because they protect the eyes. They protect the eyes by blocking “gunk” and “junk” that fall, get blown into, or fly into eyes. For example dirt, debris, or small bugs… gnats. So you must ask yourself, "if eyelashes are so important, then why damage them by not taking care of them when we wear our “falsies?"”
Some of us love our “falsies”. They can add a little or they can add a lot extra to the eyes. We may wear them when we are going out for the evenings to have a good time. We wear them to look glamorous. We may wear them to look sexy. We may want seductive eyes. We may wear them to costume parties or concerts. Some of us may wear “falsies” for daily wear. (J. Simone’s loves the lashes but we do not recommend “falsies” for daily wear.)
If you do wear “falsies” regardless, it is important to take care of you natural lashes.

For removing make-up and “falsies” use a mild makeup remover. J. Simone’s recommends e.l.f. Studio Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths This make-up remover is under 4 bucks and it does the job!  This product is good for the skin and safe for the eyes. It contains Aloe Vera Extract for that extra moisture and soothing feeling. You could also use baby oil, coconut oil, or olive oil to remove “falsies.”
Another important rule to remember when taking care of our natural lashes while wearing “falsies,” is that we must replace our make-up. According to a question asked on ABCnews.com about eye make-up and answered by Dr. Tyreese Gaines Reeves, Resident Physician at for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Yale University, we must replace our eye make-up such as mascara and eye liner every four to six months (ABCnews, 2009.) This cuts down on the risk of getting infections in the eye, such as pink eye. We have to think, eyelashes are hair and like the hair on our heads, eyelashes carry germs and bacteria. When we apply make-up to our eyes we are contaminating our brushes, pens, and pencils. In the case of brushes, over time the brush contaminates get into the bottles and you may get an eye infection. Listen, replace your make-up! Keep up with when you purchase your products and if you can’t remember when you purchased something, then it may be time to replace it.
Let your eyes breath sometimes!  Eyelashes are a temporary accessory. You shouldn't wear "falsies" every single day. So your eyelashes won’t grow? That is a common complaint. What to do? False eyelashes are a temporary fix, but nurturing and caring for your natural lashes is beneficial.  There are remedies you can try to get your eyelashes to grow a bit and Free Shipping on Orders over $25!some mascaras give you a fuller look.
So, hair bonding glue (you know, glue for hair weave and tracks) is not good for your lashes. If this glue gets in your natural lash, it could be hard to get out. You may even have an allergy to the bonding glue. Yes, we know some women who may say that with this hair bonding glue, the “falsies” would last longer, maybe two weeks.  J. Simone’s has heard this several times from consumers who wear the individual lashes. But why would you want to wear "falsies" for two weeks in a row? That is not good for your eyes and you may not be cleaning your eyes properly trying to save the “falsies.” Both e.l.f. brand and Baci brand false eyelashes come with their own adhesive glue. Other good lash glues are Duo-lash and Lash-Grip.
If you notice any puffiness, redness, or soreness around the eyelids then do not put on eye make-up or “falsies.” These are tell-tell signs that something is wrong. Pay attention!.
Ever go to bed with make-up on? Well, you shouldn't.  Do not leave make-up on overnight. Smudging your pillow may not be the only inconvenience. Waking up with cruddy make-up in your eyes is disgusting! Some of us sleepyheads wake up, and the first thing we do is rub our eyes. Rubbing your eyes with make-up on burns...burns...burns!
Share this information with you friends, family, or whomever you know wears the “falsies.”
Remember, J. Simone's care about you! Our eyes are our windows; we want to keep them clean and healthy.
